Terms & Conditions
Effective August 7, 2026 · Last updated August 7, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Blisster Inc., which operates PetCareBoard at petcareboard.com. By creating an account or using PetCareBoard, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Looking for the texting rules? They are in section 7, Text messages.
1. What PetCareBoard is
PetCareBoard is a shared board for looking after animals. A household writes down what each animal needs, and the people caring for them — family, roommates, or a sitter — check tasks off as they go, so everyone can see what has been done. It is free to use.
It is a checklist, not a veterinarian
PetCareBoard does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for a veterinarian. When you photograph a written instruction, we transcribe it — we do not interpret it, correct it, or judge whether it is right. Always confirm the drafted text against the original document, and call your vet or an emergency clinic for anything urgent.
PetCareBoard is also not an emergency service. Do not rely on it to alert anyone about an animal in distress.
2. Who may use it
You must be at least 18 years old to create a PetCareBoard account, and old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live. If you are creating a household on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these terms for it.
3. Your account
Keep your password to yourself and keep your contact details current. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@petcareboard.com if you think someone else has gotten into it.
You may close your account at any time by emailing us from the address on the account.
4. Households, sitters, and what others can see
When you join or create a household, the people in it can see that household's animals, tasks, notes, supplies, photos, messages, and the record of who checked off what. When you invite a sitter, they can see the boards and the days of the stay you invited them to, along with the emergency and care reference information for those animals. When the stay ends, their access ends.
Invite people you actually trust with your animals and your home. Owners can remove members and revoke invitations at any time.
If you enter someone else's contact details — a vet, a neighbor, an emergency contact — you confirm you are allowed to share them for this purpose.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use PetCareBoard for anything unlawful, or to harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
- Upload content you do not have the right to upload, or that is obscene, hateful, or infringing.
- Try to reach households, boards, or accounts that were not shared with you, or to probe, scan, or break our security.
- Scrape, resell, or redistribute the service, or use it to build a competing product.
- Interfere with the service, overload it, or get around its limits.
- Add someone else's phone number to receive text messages.
6. Your content
What you write and upload stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, display it to the people you have shared it with, back it up, and process it so features like reading a photographed vet note work. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained in routine backups for a limited time.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the care instructions you write. Please make sure the person feeding your horse is reading something correct.
7. Text messages (SMS)
PetCareBoard runs an optional text-message program so that time-sensitive care information reaches you. By opting in, you agree to this section.
What the program sends
- Overdue care reminders— a nudge when a task on your own board is overdue (for example, “Biscuit's evening meds are overdue”).
- Supply and restock alerts — a heads-up when a supply you marked critical runs out, or when it is time to check whether you still have enough of something.
That is the whole program. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and we do not text anyone an invitation — invitations go by email to the address the inviter entered.
How you consent
You are never texted unless you ask to be, from your own account. There is no way to be added by someone else — not by a household owner, not by a sitter, not by us. We never text a number that another person entered, so household and sitter invitations are sent by email only.
- In the app. Sign in, open your Account page, enter your own mobile number, and tick the consent box. The box is never pre-checked, and it is the only thing that turns texts on. It reads, in full:“I agree to receive text messages from PetCareBoard about overdue care tasks and supply alerts for my household, at the mobile number above. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of using PetCareBoard.”
- By text. You can also opt in by texting START to (857) 382-6273 from the mobile number you want to use.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using PetCareBoard or of any purchase. Everything in the app works without it.
Frequency and cost
Message frequency.Message frequency varies and depends on your household's activity and the settings you choose. Care reminders are sent only when a task is actually overdue, and are bundled so that a household sends at most one reminder message per person per hour — a typical household receives roughly 0–5 messages per week. These are recurring messages.
We text only between 8am and 9pm in your own local time. Anything that comes up outside those hours reaches you by email instead, so your phone stays quiet overnight — including when you are travelling.
Message and data rates may apply. PetCareBoard does not charge you for text messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you for the messages you send and receive under your plan.
STOP and HELP
To stop receiving texts, reply STOP to any message from us, or turn text messages off on your Account page. We will send one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and then we will stop texting that number. You can opt back in at any time by replying START or by turning text messages back on in your Account page.
For help, reply HELP to any message from us, or email support@petcareboard.com. Opting out of texts does not close your account or stop the email notifications you have chosen — you will keep getting those unless you turn them off too.
Your number
We never share your mobile number
No mobile information will be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for any purpose other than delivering the messages you asked for.
The only parties who ever touch your mobile number are the service providers that help us send the message — such as our messaging carrier — and they may use it solely to deliver that message on our behalf. They may not use it for their own marketing.
You confirm that the mobile number you give us is yours, and that you are authorized to receive messages at it. If you change or give up that number, update or remove it in your Account page promptly — otherwise messages about your animals may go to whoever gets the number next.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to your carrier's network, and messages may not be supported by every carrier or device. Not all handsets support every feature.
8. Notifications are best-effort
Reminders — by email or text — are a convenience, not a guarantee. They depend on networks, carriers, and mail providers we do not control, and they can be delayed, filtered, or lost. Do not rely on a reminder alone to keep an animal fed or medicated.
9. Offline use and syncing
PetCareBoard is built to work with no signal: check-offs you make offline are saved on your device and sent when you are back in range, and the app shows you how many are still waiting. Because more than one person can be working the same board, the most recent change wins. This is deliberate, and it means a change made offline can overwrite a newer one once it syncs.
10. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of PetCareBoard at any time. We aim to keep it running but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. PetCareBoard is free today; if we introduce paid features, we will tell you before you are charged for anything.
11. Ending this agreement
You may stop using PetCareBoard and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms, that puts other users or the service at risk, or where required by law. If we do, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you and to let you retrieve your care records first, unless the law or a safety concern prevents it.
12. Disclaimers
PetCareBoardIS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY REMINDER WILL BE DELIVERED.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BLISSTER INC. WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF — OR INABILITY TO USE — PetCareBoard. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Blisster Inc. and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim or demand — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of your use of PetCareBoard, the content you submit, your violation of these terms, or your violation of anyone else's rights, including submitting a phone number that is not yours.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Blisster Inc. agree that any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and each of us consents to their jurisdiction.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date above, and for significant changes — including any change to the text-message program — we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use PetCareBoard after a change means you accept the updated terms.
17. General
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about PetCareBoard. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
