Privacy Policy
Effective August 7, 2026 · Last updated August 7, 2026
The short version
- We do not sell your information. Ever.
- We never share your mobile phone number with anyone for marketing — not with third parties, not with affiliates.
- Text messages are opt-in only. Reply STOP to any message to end them. Message and data rates may apply.
- What you write about your animals is visible to the people you share a household with, and to a sitter only for the days they are covering.
- Want your data, or want it gone? Email support@petcareboard.com and we'll take care of it.
The short version is a summary, not a substitute — the full policy below is what governs.
1. Who we are
PetCareBoard (petcareboard.com) is a shared pet- and livestock-care board for households and the sitters they hand off to. The service is operated by Blisster Inc. (“PetCareBoard,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
This policy explains what information we collect when you use PetCareBoard, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to the petcareboard.com website and app, and to the email and text messages we send.
Questions about this policy, or about your information, go to support@petcareboard.com (or shay@goblisster.com).
2. Information we collect
Information you give us directly:
- Account information — your name (or whatever display name you choose), your email address, and a password. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider; we never see them.
- Your mobile phone number — only if you choose to turn on text messages. This is optional, and everything in PetCareBoard works without it. See section 4.
- Care information — the animals you add and their details (name, species, breed, date of birth, sex, weight log, temperament, veterinary information), the tasks and instructions you write, notes, supplies and where they are kept, shopping lists, and the record of who checked off what and when.
- Photos— pictures of animals, supplies, storage locations, and any documents you photograph to have them read into the app (for example, a vet's written instructions or a feed bag).
- Messages — what you write in a household channel or a stay channel.
- Emergency contacts— the vet, emergency clinic, and owner phone numbers you add so a sitter can reach them. If you enter someone else's contact details, please make sure they are comfortable with that.
Information we collect automatically:
- Technical and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and timestamps, kept in server logs for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.
- Cookies and local storage — we use only what the app needs to work: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and on-device storage so check-offs you make with no signal are saved and synced later. We do not use advertising cookies, ad networks, or third-party marketing trackers.
We do not collect precise device location, and we do not buy information about you from data brokers.
3. How we use your information
- To run the service — show your board, sync check-offs, and keep everyone in a household seeing the same thing.
- To send the notifications you have turned on, by email and (if you opted in) by text message.
- To let you invite household members and sitters, and to give a sitter access to just the animals and days they are covering.
- To read the photos you upload of written care instructions and turn them into draft tasks for you to review and confirm (see section 6).
- To keep the service secure — detecting abuse, debugging, and preventing fraud.
- To answer you when you contact support.
- To comply with the law.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone. We do not use your care information to build advertising profiles.
4. Text messages (SMS) and your mobile number
PetCareBoard can send you text messages so that an overdue feeding or a missed dose reaches you when email would not. This is entirely optional.
How you opt in
You are never texted unless you ask to be, from your own account. There is no way to be added by someone else — not by a household owner, not by a sitter, not by us. We never text a number that another person entered, so household and sitter invitations are sent by email only.
- In the app. Sign in, open your Account page, enter your own mobile number, and tick the consent box. The box is never pre-checked, and it is the only thing that turns texts on. It reads, in full:“I agree to receive text messages from PetCareBoard about overdue care tasks and supply alerts for my household, at the mobile number above. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of using PetCareBoard.”
- By text. You can also opt in by texting START to (857) 382-6273 from the mobile number you want to use.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using PetCareBoard or of any purchase. Everything in the app works without it.
What we send
- Overdue care reminders— a nudge when a task on your own board is overdue (for example, “Biscuit's evening meds are overdue”).
- Supply and restock alerts — a heads-up when a supply you marked critical runs out, or when it is time to check whether you still have enough of something.
That is the whole program. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and we do not text anyone an invitation — invitations go by email to the address the inviter entered.
How often, and what it costs
Message frequency.Message frequency varies and depends on your household's activity and the settings you choose. Care reminders are sent only when a task is actually overdue, and are bundled so that a household sends at most one reminder message per person per hour — a typical household receives roughly 0–5 messages per week. These are recurring messages.
We text only between 8am and 9pm in your own local time. Anything that comes up outside those hours reaches you by email instead, so your phone stays quiet overnight — including when you are travelling.
Message and data rates may apply. PetCareBoard does not charge you for text messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you for the messages you send and receive under your plan.
Stopping messages, and getting help
To stop receiving texts, reply STOP to any message from us, or turn text messages off on your Account page. We will send one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and then we will stop texting that number. You can opt back in at any time by replying START or by turning text messages back on in your Account page.
For help, reply HELP to any message from us, or email support@petcareboard.com. Opting out of texts does not close your account or stop the email notifications you have chosen — you will keep getting those unless you turn them off too.
What we do with your number
Your mobile number is used only to send you the messages described above and to verify that the number is yours. It is stored with your account, and it is visible to you. We do not display your mobile number to other members of your household or to sitters unless you have entered it yourself as a contact number in your emergency information.
We never share your mobile number
No mobile information will be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for any purpose other than delivering the messages you asked for.
The only parties who ever touch your mobile number are the service providers that help us send the message — such as our messaging carrier — and they may use it solely to deliver that message on our behalf. They may not use it for their own marketing.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. If you change or give up your mobile number, please update or remove it in your Account page so that messages about your animals do not go to whoever gets that number next.
6. Photos and AI reading
When you photograph a written care instruction — a vet note, a feed bag, a medication label — PetCareBoard sends that image to an AI vision service to transcribe it into draft tasks. The photo you uploaded is the source of truth: the draft is always shown to you to check and confirm before anything is saved to a board. PetCareBoard transcribes; it does not diagnose, give veterinary advice, or change your instructions.
We instruct our AI provider not to use your images or their contents to train their models. Photos you upload are stored in our file storage and are visible to your household (and to a sitter where relevant) in the app.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your account information and care information for as long as your account is active, so your history and records stay available to you. Server and security logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded.
If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep something to comply with the law or to resolve a dispute. Note that content shared into a household — a task you wrote, a message you posted, a check-off you made — may remain visible to that household as part of its care record.
If you opt out of text messages, we keep a record that your number opted out. That is required so we do not text you again by mistake.
8. Your choices and your rights
- See and correct your information — most of it is editable in the app: your name on the Account page, your animals and tasks on your boards.
- Turn off text messages — reply STOP to any message, or switch them off on your Account page.
- Turn off email notifications — use the notification settings for your household.
- Get a copy of your data, or have it deleted — email support@petcareboard.com from the address on your account and we will handle it. Account deletion is currently done by us on request rather than by a button in the app.
- Leave a household or end a stay— this removes your access to that household's information.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — to access, correct, delete, or port your information, to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither), and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. Write to us at support@petcareboard.com and we will honor them; we will not treat you differently for asking.
9. How we protect information
Traffic to petcareboard.comis encrypted in transit. Access to household and board data is enforced at the database level, so a sitter cannot read a household's records outside the stay they were invited to, and one household cannot read another's. Passwords are hashed, never stored in readable form.
No service can promise perfect security. Please use a strong, unique password, and tell us at support@petcareboard.com if you think someone else has gotten into your account.
10. Children
PetCareBoard is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. A parent can of course add a child to a household by writing their name on a task — that is information the parent provided, not information we collected from the child. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email support@petcareboard.com and we will remove it.
11. Where your information is held
PetCareBoard is operated from the United States and our providers store information on servers in the United States. If you use the service from another country, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the “last updated” date at the top. If the change is significant — especially anything affecting how we handle your mobile number or the messages we send — we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
